The french capital is almost ready for one of its greatest weeks: the Paris Fashion Week that will take place in many venues of French capital until March 10th. With no hesitation, this edition will have a very sad and much talked about absence: British fashion designer Alexander McQueen, who hung himself in his wardrobe just over two weeks ago. Nevertheless, an official statement was released this week from London: the Women’s Autumn-Winter 2010/2011 collection will be presented in The french capital on Tuesday, March 9th and Wednesday, March tenth, as a private “salon” presentation to be attended by invitation only. This choice has been taken in agreement with the Gucci Group, which owns 51% of McQueen’s business. The deceased designer, considered by many as the haute couture’s ‘enfant terrible’, always showed his collections in The french capital, in spite of being British and learning in the prestigious St. Martins of London, with Stella McCartney as well as John Galliano, the British trio that renewed the biggest Haute Couture maisons.
